The Draped Boudoir

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

There is something so romantic and picaresque about the look of draped fabric in a bedroom! Originally based on bed hangings used to keep out cold drafts - today a fabric panel is still is a clever solution - a way to add drama and style to a bedroom for little expense! The best part is you don't even need a headboard to achieve this luxe look . . .

 Even fantastic in a nursery - what a wonderful idea!

I love them all but have to say, the simple white gauzy fabric is just perfect! {The one in the 3rd image is from IKEA!}

Some of those really would be an inexpensive way to create a unique headboard. Beautiful. Just found your blog, and will check in again (also following:)

I really love the dark ethnic drapery in the 4th pic! It's such a simple idea to add some warmth and pattern to a room too!

Allison so beautiful and romantic. The tapestry hanging idea is great, I would love to find an antique piece in lighter colors!

As I live in the tropics a mosquito net over my bed makes me feel cocooned and cozy. I love the first pics a lot.
